What are the main electrical components of the control cabinet?

The main electrical components of the control cabinet include main circuit breakers, lightning arresters, transformers, terminal blocks, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), relays and contactors, network switches, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). These components play different roles in the control cabinet and work together to ensure the normal operation and safety of the system.

Main circuit breakers handle voltages between 120V-480V in most industrial applications, providing protection.

Lightning arresters prevent lightning strikes or power surges from damaging electrical components.

Transformers reduce the voltage of each component to the appropriate level based on the input voltage.

Terminal blocks help organize and distribute wires from different sources to different electrical devices.

PLCs act as the brains of the control panel, monitoring and controlling various mechanical processes.

Relays and contactors control mechanized functions based on the commands of the PLC. Small relays control functions such as lights and fans, while larger relays control higher functions such as motors.

Network switches facilitate communication between PLCs and various network-compatible devices on the production line.

HMIs allow operators to monitor or control certain functions of a machine. Common examples include video displays, joysticks, buttons, switches, and keyboards.
