The main differences between control cabinets and power distribution cabinets are as follows:
Function and use
Control cabinet
Control cabinet is mainly based on control. It can realize precise control of various equipment, such as starting, stopping, forward and reverse rotation of motors, as well as regulating and controlling physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, and flow. For example, in an automated production line, the control cabinet can accurately control the action sequence and operating status of each production equipment according to the preset program.
Power distribution cabinet
The main function is to distribute electric energy and reasonably distribute the input electric energy to each branch or power equipment. Just like in a large shopping mall, the power distribution cabinet distributes the electric energy connected from the power grid to lighting systems, air conditioning systems and other power equipment on different floors and in different areas.
Internal structure
Control cabinet
It is equipped with a large number of control electrical appliances and control devices, such as relays, contactors, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), frequency converters, controllers, etc. These components cooperate with each other to realize complex control logic. For example, in an elevator control system, the PLC in the control cabinet receives the position signal of the elevator car, the elevator call signal, etc., and controls the contactor to drive the motor to realize the lifting and stopping of the elevator.
Distribution cabinet
It is mainly composed of various switchgear (circuit breakers, disconnectors, etc.), protection devices (fuses, leakage protectors, etc.) and metering instruments (ammeters, voltmeters, watt-hour meters, etc.). For example, in the power distribution cabinet of a factory, the circuit breaker is used to cut off the circuit to prevent overload and short circuit, and the watt-hour meter is used to measure the power consumption of each branch.
Appearance design
Control cabinet
Usually, in order to facilitate operation and observe the control status, more buttons, indicator lights, display screens and other operation interfaces are designed. And its appearance may have various forms according to the control object and the use environment, some are vertical cabinets, some are wall-mounted, etc.
Distribution cabinet
The appearance is relatively regular, generally a rectangular cabinet with a door in the front to facilitate the inspection and maintenance of the internal equipment. The door is usually equipped with instruments and operating handles.
Application scenario
Control cabinet
It is widely used in industrial automation, intelligent buildings, elevator control, mechanical equipment control and other fields that require precise control of equipment operation. For example, in a sewage treatment plant, the control cabinet can control the operation of the water pump and the dosage of the agent according to the water quality monitoring data.
Distribution cabinet
Commonly used in various buildings, factories, substations and other places, as a key equipment for power distribution. For example, in the distribution room of a residential area, the distribution cabinet converts high voltage electricity into low voltage electricity and distributes it to each residential building.
